About GRS
Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (the Sabah People's Alliance) is a state-based coalition contesting elections in Sabah, formed in 2020 ahead of that year's state election.
It emerged from the same impulse that produced Gabungan Parti Sarawak next door — a conviction that Sabah's interests are better served by a locally-run alliance than by the state chapters of peninsular parties. Its membership has been more fluid than its Sarawak counterpart, having included both peninsular-based parties and parties native to Sabah at different points.
Its central concerns are the restoration of rights under the 1963 Malaysia Agreement, a greater share of revenue from the state's resources, and long-running questions of citizenship and migration specific to Sabah.
