Ahmad Amzad bin Mohamed @ Hashim

Ahmad Amzad bin Hashim was born on 15 January 1970, at Kuala Terengganu General Hospital. He attended Sultan Mahmud Secondary School of Science (SESMA) and graduated with an accounting degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. After his studies, he worked in the shipping industry, serving as the managing director of MSET Shipbuilding Corporation SDN. BHD from 1995 to 2004. His political career began in the 2018 general election when he was elected as the Member of Parliament for Kuala Terengganu. He served as Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation in both the Perikatan Nasional (2020-2021) and Barisan Nasional (2021-2022) administrations. Although his 2022 general election victory for the Kuala Terengganu seat was annulled in June 2023, he was renominated and successfully regained the seat in the subsequent by-election in August 2023.
