Ismail bin Abdul Muttalib
Ismail bin Abdul Muttalib, born 1 December 1954, is a Malaysian politician. He has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Maran since March 2004, winning re-election in 2008, 2013, 2018, and 2022. He held various deputy ministerial positions, including Deputy Minister of Human Resources (May 2013 – May 2018) and Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government (March 2020 – August 2021, and August 2021 – November 2022). Initially a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), he later joined the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) and was re-elected under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) ticket in the 2022 general election. In 2019, RM369,662 was forfeited from him by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in relation to 1MDB-linked forfeiture suits, which he did not contest.
