Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin
Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin (born 30 November 1958) is a Malaysian politician of Banjar descent from Muar, Johor. He currently serves as the Minister of Defence since December 2023 in the Unity Government administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. He previously held the position of Minister of Higher Education from December 2022 to December 2023. Prior to this, he served as the 15th Menteri Besar of Johor from May 2013 to May 2018. His earlier federal roles include Minister of Higher Education (2008-2013), Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (2004-2008), and Deputy Minister of Works (1999-2004). He has been a Member of Parliament for Johor Bahru (1990-2004), Pasir Gudang (2004-2013), and currently Kota Tinggi (since November 2022). He is a member and Vice President of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) and was the State Chairman of UMNO Johor from January to December 2023. Before entering politics, he worked for Petronas and as an adviser to federal minister Shahrir Abdul Samad. He holds a law degree from the University of Malaya (1982).
