Mohd Shahar bin Abdullah

Mohd Shahar bin Abdullah (born 6 December 1980) is a Malaysian politician. He has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Paya Besar since May 2018 and Chairman of the Government Backbenchers Club since March 2024. He previously served as the Deputy Minister of Finance I from August 2021 to November 2022 and Deputy Minister of Finance II from March 2020 to August 2021. He is a member and the Division Chief of Paya Besar of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO). Shahar contested and won the Paya Besar seat in the 2018 Malaysian general election. He was also appointed the UMNO Youth Information Chief after being elected in 2018 and UMNO Youth Communication Chief in July 2018.
