Richard Riot anak Jaem
Richard Riot anak Jaem is a Malaysian politician, currently serving as Special Envoy of the Prime Minister to East Asia since May 2020 and as the Member of Parliament for Serian since October 1990. He is a prominent member of the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP), a component of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) coalition, and has been the Deputy President of SUPP since December 2011. He also chairs the Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB). His extensive political career includes serving as Minister of Human Resources (2013-2018) and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (2010-2013) under the Barisan Nasional administration. Riot first won the Serian seat as an independent in 1990, before being re-elected for subsequent terms under the National Front (BN) ticket. He has been involved in several controversies, including speculation about defecting to opposition parties and an investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in 2017 related to missing funds from the Skills Development Fund Corporation (SDFC).
