Malaysian elections

Malaysians vote in two separate contests. A general election returns the 222 members of the federal Dewan Rakyat, and must be held within five years of Parliament first sitting. Each state separately elects its own assembly, and because most states dissolve theirs alongside Parliament while a few do not, state elections can fall in years of their own.

Every seat is decided first-past-the-post: one member per constituency, elected on a plurality, with no second round. The Election Commission (SPR) sets the nomination and polling dates once a legislature is dissolved. Below are the contests we track, each with its full result seat by seat.
