Arthur Joseph Kurup

Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup (born 4 August 1982) is a Malaysian politician, lawyer, and economist. He served as a Trade and Legal Officer at the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland, and later as a Director of Sabah Housing and Development Town Board before entering politics. He is the eldest son of Joseph Kurup, the 1st and founding President of the United Sabah People's Party (PBRS). Arthur Joseph Kurup began his political career serving as Vice President and Youth Chief of PBRS, then as Deputy President from November 2015 to January 2023, and has been the 2nd President of PBRS since January 2023. He was elected as the Member of Parliament for Pensiangan in May 2018. He has held several deputy ministerial positions, including Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Economic Affairs (March 2020 - August 2021), Deputy Minister of Works (August 2021 - November 2022), and Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (December 2022 - December 2023). Currently, he serves as the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security since December 2023.
