Siapa Ponteng Parlimen?

Every sitting of the Dewan Rakyat produces an official Hansard record, and each of those records opens with a roll call: the members present, those absent, and those formally on leave. We read those roll calls out of the published Hansard PDFs and hold them per MP, per sitting.

An MP’s attendance rate is the share of roll-call sittings they were recorded present for, counted only from the sitting at which they joined the House — so a member elected at a by-election is not penalised for sittings held before they had a seat. “Consecutive” counts the longest unbroken run of sittings missed. Leave that was formally granted is shown separately from an unexplained absence, because the two are not the same thing.

This page lists the members who attended fewer than half of the roll-call sittings open to them. Every MP misses the occasional sitting, so counting anyone with a single absence would name most of the House and tell you nothing; the threshold keeps it to the members who are genuinely missing. They are ordered from the lowest attendance upward.

Absence is not by itself a measure of a bad representative. Ministers travel, members fall ill, and constituency work happens away from Kuala Lumpur.
