Wong Chen
Wong Chen (born 18 December 1968 in Petaling Jaya) is a Malaysian politician and lawyer. He spent his early childhood in Kuala Lumpur and Kota Bharu, Kelantan. He attended United World College of South East Asia and later obtained a Law degree from the University of Warwick. He began his career practicing law in Kota Bharu, providing legal aid, before specializing in corporate law and information technology in Kuala Lumpur. He joined the People's Justice Party (PKR) in 2009, initially as an ad-hoc advisor and drafted the Pakatan Rakyat constitution. In 2011, he was appointed Chairman of the Investment and Trade Bureau of PKR. Wong Chen was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Kelana Jaya in May 2013, serving until May 2018. He was subsequently elected as the Member of Parliament for Subang in May 2018, a position he currently holds. He also served as Chairman of the International Relations and Trade Select Committee from December 2019 to May 2020 and was a member of the Finance and Economy Select Committee. Since May 2023, he has served as Non-executive Chairman of Malaysia Debt Ventures Berhad (MDV) and resumed his role as Chairman of the International Relations and Trade Select Committee. Internationally, he represents the Parliament of Malaysia for AIPA, the Asia-Pacific Group for Working Group on Science, Technology, IPU, and is a member of APHR.
