Lim Lip Eng

Lim Lip Eng is a Malaysian politician and lawyer. He was first elected to Parliament in the 2008 election, winning the Segambut seat from the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition, a seat previously considered a BN stronghold. He was re-elected to the Segambut seat in the 2013 election. In the 2018 election, he switched to the Kepong constituency and won the seat by a significant majority, retaining it in the 2022 election. He is currently a member and Secretary of Kuala Lumpur of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), which is a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalitions. In August 2019, he faced controversy after comments regarding the implementation of Malay Khat Calligraphy, for which he later apologized.
